Troy “LT” Allen Edwards, Jr.
It is my honor to introduce our newest inductee into the Muncy High School Academic Hall of Fame — a 2008 graduate whose dedication, intellect, and commitment to serving our country have taken him from the courtrooms of the Department of Justice to the highest levels of the United States defense industry.
Troy “LT” Allen Edwards, Jr. left Muncy with a foundation that carried him to Haverford College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Neural and Behavioral Sciences. He then went on to the University of Chicago Law School, graduating with Honors in 2015.
LT began his legal career as a Law Clerk in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, followed by a clerkship with the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. He then joined the Department of Justice through its prestigious Honors Program at the National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section. From there, his career in public service grew rapidly — serving as a federal prosecutor in both the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., and the Eastern District of Virginia, where he worked on some of the most significant national security cases in the country.
He rose to serve as Deputy Chief of the National Security Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia — a testament to the trust and respect he earned among his peers. Following his decade of federal service, LT was a Public Service Fellow at Lawfare, a leading national security media and think tank organization. Today, he serves as Director and Senior Counsel at Raytheon, one of the nation’s foremost defense contractors, where he continues his lifelong commitment to supporting and protecting the United States and its allies around the world.
Along the way, he has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, the Anti-Defamation League’s SHIELD Award, and multiple FBI Service Awards.
LT Edwards exemplifies everything this Hall of Fame represents — a Muncy student who worked hard, dreamed big, and went out and made a real difference in the world. Please join me in welcoming him.
