All students are encouraged to bring and wear an art shirt in art class. Regardless of what medium is being used, accidents happen and it is better to be safe than sorry. There are occasions when even with an art shirt something gets on a students clothes. With this in mind, you are encouraged to dress your child in more casual clothes on art days. All efforts will be made to keep your childs clothes neat and clean.
A new art apron or shirt is not necessary. An old, over sized shirt from a parent or sibling would work just fine. Art shirts should be large, so that they will easily cover the student's school clothes but not so large that the sleeves hang over their hands. The student's name should be written clearly on the front and back of the shirt for easy recognition.
Art shirts will be stored in each students homeroom and will be brought to the art room during their scheduled class. They will be sent home at the end of the year and during the year periodically for laundering. The same art shirt can be used every year until your student out grows it.
